Navajo Rug
5'10" x 3'8" J.B. Moore Catalog, Plate XXX variation weaving. The design is a bold double airplane motif connected by a central diamond. Four concentric octagon elements surround each stylized plane. The layout is on a gorgeous, nicely variegated, rich, dark grayish-brown field. Woven from all Native long-staple Churro cross sheep wools which are all hand-carded, handspun and hand-dyed by the weaver. Circa 1915.
