Navajo Rug 8'6" x 6' classy J.B. Moore catalog variant of rug plate XIX (19) from the 1911 catalog. The central scrolled medallion runs full field and has an inner medallion with a central whirling log motif. The border is a classic J.B. Moore as seen in Plate XXIII (23). This is a fine woven piece using all Native silky-smooth, long-staple Churro sheep wool on a wool warp. The weaver hand-carded, handspun and hand-dyed all of the wools. No a/b sides. Remnants of corner tassels visible. Three to four light stains visible throughout, isolated to one side. Otherwise excellent condition.
