Navajo Rug 8'11" x 5' exquisite Bisti area weaving. Very finely woven with typical Bisti designs including multiple layers of complex bordering that surround a long, narrow field. The inner-most border is a typical narrow checkered motif, and the light brown bowtie border features lighter streaks of mohair, which is very unusual in old Navajo textiles. The two steel-grey crosses in the center are woven with 4-ply Germantown yarn, while the rest of the rug is woven with Native Churro sheep wools, all on a wool warp. Circa 1920, near mint condition. $8,000-10,000
