Navajo Rug
10’4” x 5’11”. An outstanding, very large rug most likely woven in the Ganado region. The rug has beautiful patina with expansive bold serrated motifs. The central design appears to be a stylized double bodied stick figure sharing a common head. The border all around is a deep serrated sawtooth design with an outer red band. Woven from Native long staple Churro sheep wool, all handshorn, hand dyed and hand carded. Circa 1915.
