Navajo Rug
6’3” x 3’7”. Hubbell Trading Post weaving. The design is undoubtedly inspired by one of the watercolor paintings that hung on the walls of the Hubbell Trading Post rug room. The bold, whirling log motif on the beautifully hand carded, variegated field makes a powerful impression. Woven from all handshorn, handcarded, handspun and han-dyed Native silky, long staple Churro sheep wool on a wool warp. Circa 1915.
