Southern Cheyenne Bow and Quiver Sinew backed bow with three matching arrows in a beaded quiver and bow case. Brain-tanned cougar skin, sewn with animal sinew and linen thread. Bow is 46" overall, 56" from top to bottom of drop when hanging. Decorated with red wool, Venetian glass seed beads, brass hawk bells, blue and yellow silk ribbons and a cotton cloth panel torn from a shirt back. Also adorned with all four mountain cougar paws. Multiple work periods. $5,000-7,000 Provenance: Private Collection, White Bird, ID.

Bow has three tension cracks in the belly. Lion hide has numerous cracks, especially on the bandolier, but it's stable with very minor bead loss. Hawk bells, beading on the drop and some trade cloth could be newer. Overall in very good condition considering age.
