White Bull Crow Shirt and Painting
Shirt: 32" long x 22" shoulder to shoulder. Accented with beaded cuffs, fringe and two elk teeth. Three metal eagle buttons adorn the closure in the back. Very showy with unusual cuffs. On brain-tanned buffalo hide. Circa 1875-1885.

The Mystic Warriors of the Plains by Thomas Mails and Warpath: The True Story of the Fighting Sioux Told in a Biography of Chief White Bull by Stanley Vestal included in the lot.
Chief Joseph White Bull (1849-1947) was the nephew of Great Sioux Chief Sitting Bull.
Condition
Shirt shows some minor discoloration in areas but is fine overall. Beadwork on cuffs was added later.
Oil is excellent.
