AJ Grove Flintlock Kentucky Long Rifle 40" octagon barrel, 56" overall length. Maple stock and brass furniture, including simple patchbox. Light incised carving on wrist and cheekpiece. $2,000-3,000 Provenance: Private Collection, Anacortes, WA.
A.J. Grove (Active c. 1830–1860) – York County, Pennsylvania
A York County gunsmith and later dealer in firearms and powder, Grove’s rifles combine traditional hand-engraved detail with emerging machine-made precision.
Condition
Shows some use, stock possibly refinished. Barrel shows nice patina. Please call for more photos and details.
