Northern Plains Medicine Wrapper 29.5" x 44". Beautifully done banded quillwork on brain-tanned deer skin. Accented with beaded border around three edges, and brass rings with trade cloth tie. Circa 1870. $8,000-12,000 Provenance: Shaw Gallery, 1991.
Condition
Some of the quillwork is faded, but all intact. Hide shows some discoloration and staining but is mostly soft and supple with the exception of one area on one edge that is stiff and discolored.
